More specifically, in the first six months of the year, imports reached 5.4 billion US dollars, which increased by 1.1 billion US dollars or 25.9 percent from the same period last year.

Among the products that mainly contributed to the increase in imports are passenger cars.

The import of passenger cars increased by 25,000 units or 42.4 percent in monetary terms from the same period last year. Also, the import of diesel fuel increased by 137,000 tons or 24.2 percent in monetary terms.

However, it was reported that 4,000 units of trucks or 51.2 percent increased from the same period last year.

The National Statistics Committee (NSC) presented import data for the first six months of 2024.
